Sister Cities, the once-derided local diplomacy program pushed by Libertarians post-WWII as key to world peace continues to do what militaries and central governments can’t: Bring peace. Skillman met with Vice Governor Gong Zheng of Zhejiang province “to begin an exchange council between Indiana and Zhejiang, while two additional sister city relationships were formed by delegates from Logansport and White County.”
Skillman and Gong signed a memorandum of understanding that would establish the Indiana-Zhejiang Exchange Council, which works as the counterpart to the Indiana Working Group on China housed at the Sagamore Institute, according to the press release.
The council would ensure continued cooperation in the areas of business, trade, education, agriculture and tourism, the release states.
